Ketinggian darjat orang yg benar

Daripada Abu Said al-Khudri r.a.,Nabi s.a.w. bersabda;;Peniaga yg benar dan jujur akan
bersama sama dengan para nabi, golongan siddiqin(benar) dan para syuhada.
                                                                            (riwayat al-Tirmizi)

Kisah lucu seorang guru yg menafikan wujudnya tuhan.

Spectacular end to 16th edition of Games

GUANGZHOU: It was a spectacular climax to the 16th Asian Games, as China showcased the power and splendour of Asia, with a befitting closing ceremony, on the magnificent platform at the Haixinsha Island on Saturday. It was time to celebrate the success of the athletes and the success of the Games.
The torch tower and flame glowing in all its glory on the cauldron standing in front of the eight huge sail-boat television screens depicting the salient features of the 45 nations, the 610-metre Canton tower looking down majestically on one side, the fireworks lighting up the sky, the beautifully decorated and colourfully lit boats on sail on the river on one side, the city lit up nicely in the background, it was another spell-binding performance with emphasis on dance and music.
Merry dance
The audience was floored by a sequence of songs, including one in Hindi ‘saajan ki ghar aayi' with the Chinese women in different costumes dancing merrily, depicting the conglomeration of the different cultures of the region.
The sea, with the sails, boats, children on six stands swaying to the beats, sometimes with lighted stars in their hands made for an unforgettable spectacle.
The Chinese continued to play with water. There was a boat that came out from water on the big stage and set sail with people waving. The platform opened up for a water channel and it was time for the boat to move from land to water.
Memorable moments
There was the formation of a huge flower under the torch tower, and people danced all around in different costumes, leading to a Dragon dance that won a huge round of applause.

FITTING FINALE: Performers regale the audience at the closing ceremony of the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, on Saturday. The glittering display rung the curtain down on the 15-day event, in which athletes from 45 countries participated. Host China finished on top of the table with a haul of 416 medals, including 199 gold.
The moments will be etched in memory for the 35,000 audience, lucky to be present at the arena, able to imbibe the whole picture, quite impossible for the biggest of television screens, and the best of modern movie cameras, to capture in one frame.
The athletes marched in with satisfaction, and quite appropriately boxer Vijender Singh carried the Indian flag into the arena. The volunteers walked up on the stage and were presented flowers by children as a token of appreciation for their splendid effort in making the Games a success.
The president of the Olympic Council of Asia, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, was all praise for the host, and played the mediator in handing over the first Asian Games torch, the first Asian Games flag and the first OCA flag from the hosts to the team from Korea, the host for the next edition in Incheon in 2014.
The OCA president summed up by saying, “the many moments of excitement, in one of the most outstanding edition in the history of the Games, would be reduced to memory to be shared by all.”
City of sport

He said that the Guangzhou, the City of Flowers would be remembered henceforth as the “city of sport and peace.”
He declared the Games closed, and announced that the youth icons would meet again after four years, and celebrate the 17th Asian Games in Korea.
The Koreans took over the stage, and gave glimpses of what they would show as hosts, with a bunch of songs and a spell of dance, that included martial arts and acrobatics.
Soon, there was a lighted boat that sailed in mid air, as if it had descended from the skies, moving close to the cauldron. A lady waved from the boat and was seen projecting as if she was pouring water. The fire in the cauldron vanished, and the boat sailed away towards the Canton tower, merging into the night. The fireworks exploded in the sky.
Well done Guangzhou. See you in Incheon.

Squash delivers ninth gold

YOUNGSTER Low Wee Wern bravely and successively shouldered the heavy responsibility of having to win the crucial opening match for Malaysia in the women’s team squash final against Hong Kong at the Asian Games Town Gymnasium yesterday.
And she did not let the country down by beating Rebecca Chiu 11-4, 7-11, 11-6,11-9 in 54 minutes to effectively hand Malaysia the gold medal.
World No. 1 and three-time Asian Games champion Nicol David, as expected, sealed the tie with a match to spare – beating Annie Au 11-8, 11-7, 11-6 in 33 minutes.
The 2-0 win was sweet revenge over Hong Kong, who defeated Malaysia in the semi-finals of the Asian Championships in Chennai in May.

Sahabat sejati

Menyokong ketika kita rebah, menguatkan semangat jika kita kegagalan.
Sentiasa memberi ruang untuk kita bangkit semula, tapi alangkah sukarnya untuk menemui sahabat sejati.
Ibarat mencari setitis embun di padang pasir.

25 Nov, 2010, 11.25AM IST,AGENCIES Facebook to patent the word 'face'?

LONDON: It may sound ridiculous at first, but Facebook is planning to trademark the word 'face' because it wants to stop other companies using the term in a way which damages its own brand.

The first stage of the bid has been approved and, provided they complete all the paperwork, the full trademark will be rubber stamped by the U.S. Patent Office in six months time.

Over the next six months Facebook will have to demonstrate it is using the trademark and file a Statement of Use, the next phase, ahead of final approval.

However, the general public will still be able to use 'face' without fear of breaking the law, reports the Daily Mail.

In Facebook's case, it only applies to, "Telecommunication services, namely, providing online chat rooms and electronic bulletin boards for transmission of messages among computer users in the field of general interest and concerning social and entertainment subject matter."

So long as Facebook pays the necessary fees, the application is likely to go through without objection, officials said. The U.S. Patent And Trademark Office has already allowed a period for objections and none were raised.

South Asia Indian man to hang in Malaysia for drug trafficking

Malaysia's High Court has sentenced an Indian man to hang for trafficking in more than 12 kg of ketamine, news reports said Thursday. Habeeb Nashtar Abdul Mutalif, 51, was caught upon his arrival from New Delhi at Penang international airport in March 2009, with the drugs stored in stainless steel
containers. Habeeb, who holds a Malaysian permanent resident status, told police officers he was given the containers by a man he met in a mosque in New Delhi, and claimed he was unaware of its contents when he agreed to bring them to Penang.
However, the High Court judge ruled that his defense was unacceptable as Habeeb was working in the capital Kuala Lumpur and had no reason to land in Penang, which is 450 km away, when arriving from India.
Malaysia's tough drug laws prescribe the mandatory death sentence for those found guilty of trafficking in most types of drugs.

Ipoh lawyer slashed to death

IPOH: A lawyer was slashed to death by two masked men outside his Desa Rishah home.
In the 5pm incident on Tuesday, the two men are believed to have trailed G. Balasundram, 57, from his office and attacked him just as he reached his home.
He sustained 17 slash wounds to his abdomen and his thighs.
Balasundram, who specialised in civil cases, was sent to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun for treatment by a neighbour who witnessed the incident.
Robbery has been ruled out as Balasundram’s belongings were not taken.
State CID chief Senior Asst Comm (II) Datuk Mohd Dzuraidi Ibrahim said the duo attacked Balasundram with Rambo knives.
“He died at 9.30pm after being treated at the hospital’s intensive care unit,” he said, adding that police were investigating the motive of the attack.
When met at the mortuary yesterday, Balasundram’s sister G. Kamala, 58, said the last time Balasundram spoke to the family was at 3pm on the day of the fatal attack.
“He called my mother to inform her that he was returning to her Pasir Pinji home,” she said, adding that Balasundram was the only son among six children.
Balasundram leaves behind wife G. Puspalatha, 46, and five-year-old son Somaskanthar.
Perak MIC chairman Datuk S. Veerasingam said the attack was “senseless”, adding that “the life of a good man has been snuffed out”.
Former Malaysian Bar president S. Theivanthiran said Balasundram had started out from humble beginnings, working as a canteen helper to put himself through law school.
“He was a friendly fellow and that is why everyone is in shock,” said Theivanthiran.
He added that Balasundram had been involved in several controversial cases, one of which was to represent a 10-year-old boy from Kampar who was allegedly tortured by police while in custody for apparently stealing from his teacher.
Balasundram, he added, was also a legal adviser to Sungai Siput MP Dr D. Jeyakumar.
“He was an ardent supporter of Dr Jeyakumar and acted on behalf of Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) in several cases,” Theivanthiran said.
PSM deputy chairman M. Saraswathy said Balasundram’s death was a loss to the party and to blue-collared workers.
“He had been representing us in several cases since 1995 on a pro bono basis,” she added.
